3 Ways to Boost Views & Build Authority with LinkedIn and YouTube Shorts

If you’re looking to stand out and show people you’re serious about what you do, here are three things you can start doing right now. These are the same strategies I tell my clients to focus on—and I make sure to practice them myself.

Let’s break it down.

1. Start Using LinkedIn Video

If you haven’t been posting video on LinkedIn yet, you’re missing out. LinkedIn is pushing video content hard these days. When you create the type of content the platform wants, it helps you get seen more. And who doesn’t want more visibility?

You don’t have to get fancy. Just start by sharing a quick insight, talking about a common challenge in your industry, or even giving a behind-the-scenes look at your day. It’s all about getting more comfortable on camera and building that connection with your audience. Once you get going, LinkedIn will do some of the heavy lifting, helping you reach more people.

Here’s a recent video that I posted on LinkedIn to give you an idea:

2. Post YouTube Shorts

I’m going to keep this simple: YouTube Shorts are short, sweet, and they work. People love quick, easy-to-digest videos. You don’t need a big production—just use your phone to share some valuable tips or answer common questions you get all the time.

When people see that you consistently offer helpful, bite-sized advice, they’ll be more likely to stick around and see what else you’ve got to offer. These Shorts can be a great way to drive attention to your longer content or even bring people over to your website. Also, did you know that YouTube is increasing the duration of shorts from 60 seconds to 3 minutes?

3. Put Your Course on YouTube

If you have a mini course or even just some lessons you’ve created, don’t let them sit around unused. Put that content on YouTube! Even a short course can be a great way to introduce yourself as an authority in your space. It also helps guide people toward your bigger offers, like a more in-depth course, your coaching services, or even booking a call.

Think of it this way: if someone is already watching your course for free, they’re likely to see value in what you have to offer. It’s all about creating a funnel that leads people to your next step. I’ve seen clients grow their reach and increase sign-ups just by giving away a little upfront.

Quick Recap: Three Moves You Can Make Right Now

  1. Post videos on LinkedIn – The platform wants video content, so take advantage of that and get more eyes on what you’re doing.
  2. Create YouTube Shorts – Short, helpful videos that give your audience quick wins and keep them engaged.
  3. Upload your course to YouTube – Use your mini course as a way to funnel people into your bigger offerings.

These steps aren’t complicated, but they’re powerful. Start small if you need to—consistency is more important than perfection. I’ll be checking in on Fridays, holding myself accountable, and doing the same things I’m encouraging you to do.
